Since the 1970s, Stone has been working on the campaigns of key Republican politicians including Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, Bob Dole, Jack Kemp, and Donald Trump. In addition to serving as the frequent campaign advisor, he previously used to serve as a political lobbyist.

In the year 1980, Roger co-founded the Washington, D.C.-based lobbying firm Black, Manafort along with the principals Paul Manafort and Charles R. Clack Jr. That firm later recruited Peter G. Kelly and was renamed as Black, Manafort, Stone, and Kelly.

BMSK became the top lobbying firm during the 1980s by leveraging its White House connections for attracting high-paying clients such as U.S. Corporations, Trade associations, and foreign governments.

Prior to that, Roger is also a subject of a Netflix documentary film called Get Me Roger Stone. It focuses on his past and his role in the 2016 Presidential Campaign of Donald Trump. He first suggested Trump run for President in spring of 1998 while Roger was Trump’s casino business lobbyist in Washington.
