Rebel had also studied at Australian Theatre for Young People. In the year 2003, she moved to New York after winning an ATYP International scholarship that was funded by Nicole Kidman. During her time in New York, Wilson got trained with “The Second City”.

She made her appearance with Sydney Theatre Company and also performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Rebel first gained notoriety in 2002 with the stage musical “The Westie Monologues” that she wrote, starred in as well as produced in Sydney.
