Peter Carroll is an American by nationality. He is a football coach who is currently the head coach as well as an executive vice president of the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL.

Pete Carroll is originally from San Francisco, California, USA. She came into this world on 15th September of the year 1951 which has now made him reach at the age of 67. Carroll was born to his parents James Edward Carroll and James Edward Carroll.

For his education, Pete went to study at the Redwood High School located in Larkspur, California. After becoming an athlete in his childhood, the lack of his physical growth as a teenager caused him to become frustrated in the high school sports weighing just 50 kg.

Pete was a multi-sport star in football, basketball, and baseball earning the Athlete of the Years honors of the school in 1969 as a senior. Later in April 2009, he was inducted into the charter class of Redwood High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

After completing his high school, Carroll went to attend the junior college at the nearby College of Marin. There, he played football for a couple of years before getting transferred to the University of Pacific. At the university, Pete was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Later, he got graduated from there in 1973 earning Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Carroll has married twice and divorced once. He was previously married to his first wife Wendy Pearl with whom he tied his knot on 2nd June 1973. Due to some issues, they got separated in 1975.

At present, Pete is married to his second wife Glena Goranson. The couple exchanged their vows with each other on 21st May 1976 and since then, they are having their blissful life. Additionally, Pete also has three children together with Glena.

Pete Carroll: Career

At present, Pete Carroll is the head coach as well as an executive vice president of the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL. He is a former head coach of New England Patriots, New York Jets, and the USC Trojans of the University of Southern California.

Carroll is one among the three football coaches who have won both the Super Bowl and a College Football National Championship. One of his greatest accomplishments was masterminding a defense known as Legion of Boom who led the NFL to score defense 4 years straight becoming the 1st team to do so since the Cleveland Browns in the 1950s.

Apart from that, Pete is the oldest head coach who is currently working in the National Football League.

It was on 8th January of 2010 when it was reported that Pete was about to be hired as the head coach of Seahawks. The following day in the morning, he came to an agreement with the Seahawks on a five years contract which would appoint him as a head coach.

Later on 11th January, Carroll was officially hired as the head coach of the Seahawks. Additionally, he was also named as an executive vice president of football operations effectively making him the general manager of Seahawks.

Prior to that, Pete is also a philanthropist. He was affected by numbers of gang-related murders that was taking place in poorer areas. In April of 2003, he helped to organize a meeting with the political leaders, high rankings law enforcement officials as well as representatives from the social services, education, and the faith-based communities at USC’s Heritage Hall for a Brainstorming session.

The result was the founding of “A Better LA” which is a charity devoted to reducing violence in targeted urban areas of Los Angeles.
