Natalie Corona: The Case

Davis police Officer Natalie Corona died due to a chilling, resolute ambush by a city resident. The person was on a bicycle and rode up to an accident scene where she was investigating Thursday night. Then, he opened fire with a hail of bullets from a semiautomatic handgun.

Before she was shot, she was talking to one of the motorists. The gunman glided up on a bicycle and stopped in the shadows on a sidewalk. Then, he walked towards the 22-year-old Davis police officer and began firing. He shot her once and she went on the ground. After that, he went on shooting her multiple times.

Again, he unloaded a magazine, reloaded and started shooting in other directions. Later, the Officer was rushed to a trauma center in Sacramento where she was pronounced died. The investigation is going on at a residence near 5th and E St in Davis where the shooter was believed to be hiding. Later, when the police robots entered the residence, the suspect was found dead which appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Further investigation is still carried on.
