Professionally, Lynne Cheney is an author and former talk show host. Cheney, the wife of Dick Cheney served as the Second Lady Of The United States from 2001 to 2009.

From 1986 to 1993, Lynne served as the 6th chair of National Endowment For The Humanities. Cheney founded the American Council Of Trustees And Alumni in 1995. Starting from 1995, Lynne worked as a co-host of CNN's Crossfire the Sunday edition for 3 years replacing Tony Snow. Lynne was on the board of directors of the Lockheed Corporation from 1994 to 2001. But, Cheney gave up her $120,000 annual position before Dick's inauguration. Lynne was the female pick for the nominee of Republican Vice President on George Bush ticket where her husband, Dick was the appointed head.
