Kirstie Alley was born in the year 1951 on the 12th of January in Wichita, Kansas, U.S. She was born as a daughter to  Lillian Mickie (née Heaton) who was a homemaker, and Robert Deal Alley, owner of a lumber company. She grew up alongside her two siblings, Colette and Craig.

Regarding her schooling, it is known that Alley joined Kansas State University but dropped out after her sophomore year. Before university, she also graduated from  Wichita Southeast High School in 1969.

In addition, she also sought interest in interior designing and Scientology so, in hopes of pursuing them she moved to Los Angeles. That is where her interest in acting brewed.
