An American by nationality, Joe Benigno is a sports radio personality who is the co-host of the show Joe and Evan on weekdays from 10 am to 1 pm ET along with Evan Roberts. The show airs on the New York radio stations WFAN-FM and WFAN-AM.

Joe Benigno was born on 26th September of the year 1953 which has now made him reach at the age of 65. He is of American nationality and is originally from Garfield, New Jersey, USA.

Benign is of Italian descent and he was grown up in Paramus. For his studies, Joe went to attend Franklin College from where he earned himself a degree in Political Science in the year 1975.

Joe Benigno: Professional life and Career

It was in the year 1994 when Benigno first tastes the radio experience. He was the guest host of the show on WFAN as the result of winning the contest held by that station. Before again returning to WFAN as the overnight host in the year 1995, Joe had hosted a sports-talk show on one of the radio stations in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

He then continued his post as overnight host until November of 2004 when he moved to co-host with Sid Rosenberg after Sid’s precious co-host named Jody McDonald didn’t have the contract renewed with that station.

Benign is also the co-host of Daily News Live that airs on SNY.

Prior to that, Joe has also released his first book entitled as Rules for New York Sports Fans. The book was released in April of 2010.

Joe faced a wide criticism on 25th April 2013 for saying he would buy drugs for Tyrann Mathieu if the New York Jets drafted him.

Apart from that, a lawsuit against Joe was filed on 18th July 2018 by the former WFAN employee Lauren Lockwood alleging that he pressured her to have a threesome. Lauren also added that Joe whispered in her ear about having the threesome with him, his wife as well as prostitutes.

In response to that lawsuit, Joe took the indefinite leave of absence that lasted for the remainder of the summer. He then returned to the show on 10th September 2018.
