Chris Samuels: professional life and career

In the 2000 NFL Draft. Samuels was considered the premier offensive tackles prospect. He was later drafted 3rd overall by the Washington Redskins. He was the only offensive tackle drafted in top 19 of the draft as well as the first Alabama offensive lineman who was selected in the 1st round of the NFL Draft.

Chris then immediately became the beginning left tackle for the Redskins and he was also selected to the six Pro Bowls. In the year 2000, he became one of the four players on offense who started every game joining Mark Fischer, Jon Jansen, and Stephen Alexander.

Chris Samuels was regarded as a leader of the offensive line of Washington. During the 2005 off-season, he was signed by the Redskins to a seven years contract worth around $47 million as well as a signing bonus of around $16 million.
