Amy Coney Barrett and Rick Mullaney While Barrett was still in college studying law, she was appointed as the Notre Dame Law Review’s executive editor. As she is a woman who is very enthusiastic about her career and ambitions, she immediately began her professional career after graduating from college by serving under Judge Laurence Silberman as his law clerk.

At the time, Silberman worked at the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and so Barrett got a lot of exposure and experience by working under him. She moved on to grab another opportunity to work with Associate Justice Antonin Scalia for a year as a law clerk. Barrett then officially began practicing law alongside Miller, Larroca, Cassidy and Lewin from 1999.

She was offered the prestigious position of a teacher at Notre Dame Law School in 2002 and she took the opportunity, eventually becoming the college’s Professor of Law eight years later, in 2010. She was also given the responsibility of M.O. Miller Research Chair of Law and the Diane at Notre Dame for over three years until 2017.

Barrett was listed as one of the nominees to be selected as the United States Circuit Judge by the U.S. President Donald Trump on the 8th of May in 2017 in order to serve at the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
