TRANSGENDER contender Alana McLaughlin won her MMA debut against Celine Provost on Friday night. 

The 38-year-old is the first transparently transsexual competitor to contend in MMA since Fallon Fox ventured into the enclosure in 2014. 

McLaughlin got a second-balance win by stifling Provost, in spite of the fact that it was anything but a simple battle for the rookie. 

McLaughlin was shaken by her adversary in the first round prior to recuperating to constrain an accommodation. 

The battle was at first planned for August 6 yet was delayed after Provost tried positive for Covid in July. 

McLaughlin passed all clinical prerequisites prior to making her MMA debut, including chemical appraisals.

She came out as transsexual in 2003, matured 20, yet was denied sex reassignment medical procedure by her mum and joined the military.
