Seven Bridges: Bullied In School

The ten years old boy's health condition was the main reason for the bullying he endured in his school. According to WDRB.com, the situation went out of hand when Seven was allegedly choked and called a racial slur while riding the school bus.

It had started to impact him so much that a month before taking his own life, Seven was found crying in his room hysterically by his parents. He reportedly wanted to move on and keep things behind but his friends continued to harass him. "Twenty-six surgeries from the day my son was born. Twenty-six surgeries. He just wanted to be normal, that's all," Tami mentioned to the news station with great sorrow.

Upon his death, the Jefferson County Public Schools Communications Director, Renee Murphy has spoken out saying that the school community is devasted by the news and that their heart reaches out to the family. However, Tami believes that the school could have done more to help when she was trying to aware them about the continuous bullying her son had to go through.

She even went as far to mention that the faculty's behavior somehow turned indifferent towards her son because she spoke against the bullying aggressively. She told WLKY that, “We found that the school system had a lot of holes and a lot of inconsistencies with their policies about bullying,” she further added by saying, “They stood on the verbal message, the lip service of zero tolerance, but they did not deliver.”

Actions must be carried out against bullying in high school so that tragedies like Seven's death can be avoided.
