Mark Richt was born on the 18th of February, 1960. He was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska by his parents, Lou and Helen Richt. His father was a tool-and-die maker for Western Electric but there is not much information available about his mother. He moved with his family to Colorado when his mother got a new job and later to South Florida.
It is known that he attended Boca Raton High located in South Florida. Ever since he was very young, he had his mind set on being a football player. He loved being in the field and that paid off very early in his career. He was the star athlete of his school and got recognition all over Florida. He further attended the University Of Miami and played college football for four years.
Regarding his love life, he is a married man. Mark married Katharyn Francis in the year 1987. The couple shares four children named, Jonathan, David, and two children they adopted from Ukraine, Zach, and Anya.

Mark Richt: Professional Life
The 58-year-old, Mark Richt started working in the field of football when he was relatively young. He first began in the field for the University of Miami from 1978-1982. But, soon decided he would rather choose a separate path and started coaching. He first worked as a graduate assistant for Florida State Seminoles in 1985.
Mark later became the offensive coach at the East Carolina University and returned back to the Florida State University in the position of a quarterbacks coach. However, after your years of serving as a quarterback coach, he officially became the offensive coordinator. He served in the position for seven years and led his team to be marked in the top 5 scoring offenses for 5 seasons.
Richt was hired as the head coach for the Georgia Bulldogs and he did not disappoint the Bulldogs either. They won 6 SEC Eastern Division titles, 9 bowl games, and 2 Southeastern Conference championship.
Mark's career took a new height in 2015 when he was offered the position of a head coaching for University of Miami. Richt bagged the “Walter Camp Coach of the Year Award," because of 16 consecutive wins and a much deserved hard work.
However, on December 31, 2018, Mark decided to take a retirement.
