Adreian Payne, a previous Michigan State b-ball champion and NBA player, has passed on in a shooting. He was 31.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said appointees answered a shooting at 1:34 a.m. Monday when Payne was recognized and taken to an emergency clinic where he was articulated dead.

Lawrence Dority, 29, was available at the scene, as per the Sheriff's Office. He was captured on a first-degree murder warrant after crime criminal investigators talked with him.
