John Macris: The murder
John Macris' murder has been a hot topic because of his history. According to the police, he was shot on October 31, 2018, right outside his house in Troias St at the Panorama area of Voula which is a southern suburb of the Greek capital, Athens, Greece.
Macris was attacked by possibly three assailants when he was getting into his Smart car. He was fired with a 9mm gun four times into the passenger window. The bullets hit him in the stomach, chest, and shoulder blade.
Police are now investigating if his death was linked to his possible association in the drug trade or in planned crime. Officials say he had run-ins with police in the past, both in Australia and in Greece.
Police were looking for camera footage for evidence to the murder and were leading ballistics tests on the bullet casings to conclude whether or not the weapon had been used in other crimes.
