Corey Aris Davis: The Case

In 2016, Davis got arrested for a number of crimes in Lauderdale County which included sexual torture, human trafficking, burglary, kidnapping, rape, and impersonating a police officer.

According to the Department of Corrections, Davis was discovered missing from the prison at a maximum-security prison in north Alabama during a security check around 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

The search for a Lauderdale County man who escaped from prison Wednesday continued into the night Thursday, and local law enforcement agencies are on alert as the escapee has ties to the Shoals area.

According to the Alabama Department of Corrections, Davis hid inside the trailer while he was working in a furniture plant of the Alabama Correctional Industries). It is estimated that at about 12:30 p.m. that day, the trailer, along with Davis, left the facility at Alabama to the ACI facility in Montgomery.

Authorities at Lauderdale received a call from a woman telling them that she has seen Davis near the intersection of Lauderdale 100 and Alabama 200. She further described that the man was wearing inmate state whites which confirmed that the man was in fact, Davis.

After receiving the call, members of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office, as well as the Tracking dogs, had searched around the area near Lauderdale 100 just off Alabama 20 for many hours on Thursday. The Lauderdale County man was said to have ties to the Shoals area.

After a lot of searches, Davis was finally captured by U.S. Marshals in Kentucky about 3:36 in the Saturday morning. Also, prison officials have confirmed that they have identified three other inmate suspects at the prison who might have assisted Davis in his escape.
