Barry Trotz (born on July 15, 1962) is a Canadian expert ice hockey mentor who as of late was the lead trainer of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL).

He is additionally the previous lead trainer of the Nashville Predators and the Washington Capitals. As an NHL mentor, he is third all-time in wins, just behind Scotty Bowman and Joel Quenneville.

He is frequently alluded to by fans and players as "Trotzy" or the "Eggman".

He was beforehand the mentor of the American Hockey League (AHL's) Baltimore Skipjacks and Portland Pirates, with whom he brought home an AHL title in 1994.

New York Islanders (2018-2022)

On June 21, 2018, the New York Islanders recruited Trotz as the lead trainer. On March 5, 2019, Trotz acquired his 800th professional win when the Islanders crushed the Ottawa Senators 5-4 after a shootout.

In the Stanley Cup end of the season games, the Islanders cleared the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round and afterward were cleared by the Carolina Hurricanes in the subsequent round. On June 19, 2019, Trotz won the Jack Adams Award briefly time.

On August 20, 2020, the Islanders crushed Trotz's previous group, the Washington Capitals, who he recently instructed to a Stanley Cup title in 2018, 4-1 in the first round of the 2020 Stanley Cup end of the season games.

Individual life

Trotz lives in Garden City, New York, with his significant other and four kids. The family recently lived in Brentwood, Tennessee, and Clarendon, Virginia.

A functioning individual from the Nashville people group, Trotz won the Community Spirit Award in 2005 for different altruistic works, including giving $500 to My Friends' House (a United Way office) for every Nashville triumph through a few seasons.
