Bruce Allen is an American by his nationality. He is a football executive who is a team president of Washington Redskins of National Football League. Previous to that, Allen used to serve as a general manager for Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2004 to 2008 and the Redskins from 2010 to 2014.

Bruce started his NFL career as a senior executive with the Oakland Raiders where he stayed from 1996 to 2003. He is also well-known for being the son of Professional Football Hall of Fame coach George Allen and for being the brother of a former Virginia Governor and US Senator George Allen.

Bruce Allen: Career

It was in July of 1979 when Bruce was hired as a head football coach by Occidental College which is a small NCAA Division III school located in Los Angeles. During that time, he was just at the age of 22.

Later in the early 1990s, Allen became a lead agent for the Paradise Sports in Phoenix, Arizona. During his tenure there, he has represented numbers of professional football players.

Bruce then joined the Oakland Raiders Organization in the year 1995. He became the winner of the George Young Executive of the Year Award with that club during the AFC Championship Year in 2002.

After the 2003 season, Allen was hired to replace Rich McKay by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He then immediately started to look for the more youthful team in Tampa Bay. His contract with them ended in 2008.

On 17th December 2009, it was announced by the Washington Redskins that they were going to hire Bruce as their General Manager shortly after the Executive Vice President of football operations, Vinny Cerrato resigned.

After Allen joining the Redskins, Jim Zorn and his staff were fired which allowed Mike Shanahan to get hired as a head coach as well as executive vice president of the football operations.
